Endoscopy Branch Of The SSGE

1. Year of founding SSGE: 1976

 2.  Year of founding Endoscopy Branch: 1995

3.  Year of admittance to ESGE: 1995 .Through joining the ESGE,

we think we were able to build up a really strong esteemed communications world wide.

4.  Number of members now 99.

5. Important contributions:

6·  Workshops on Advanced Endoscopy:

Two workshops every year,

one in April preceding the annual International Congress of the mother society SSGE & the second in

November preceding the National SSGE Symposium.

So far; we have done 18 workshops.

The next one is due on April 26^th , 2005 in Damascus.

The most important one was

SYRENDO 2000: The 8^th ESGE International Workshop on Advanced Endoscopy April 10-11, 2000.

 · Video Endoscopy Library

  · Video Round tables: Specialized endoscopy subject in various syrian cities and centers.

                            · Young Clinician Program: We send young to special endoscopy centers all over Europe for one months Exposure.

The center supplies sleep and food accommodation in addition to training.

Around 24 colleagues were got the advantage of this program during the last 9 years.

We have sent people to Egypt, Germany, Italy & France.

                                     · Contribution to Researches with ESGE, the most important was the ESGE Colorectal Campaign in April 2000.

                                       ·  ESGE Postgraduate Grant: We have sent so far two young colleagues 2005 & 2001.

                                   · Endoscopy Journal: The branch is affiliated to the official journal of  the ESGE journal ENDOSCOPY starting 1998.

                        · Arabic Guidelines for endoscopic procedures:

Antibiotics in Endoscopy procedures, Cleaning & Disinfection in Endoscopy, Polypectoy.

                                  ·  Arabic Translation for the Minimal Standard Terminology MST that created by ESGE.

The Previous Presidents

The President of the endoscopy branch is supposed to stay for one time round (two years) only as per the branch's bylaw.

However; a president can be re-nominated after a drop round.

By this we give chance to as many colleagues as possible to participate in administration and

we discover the creative and productive personal, and at the same time keeping an axis to the distinguished president

to continue supporting the branch.

The previous presidents of the branch since the establishment were:

5- Dr Nazir Ibrahim

We would like to express our thanks & gratitude to

keep this branch in continuous advance.
